American Markquis Nowell plays collegiate basketball for the Big 12 Conference's Kansas State Wildcats. With 19 assists against Michigan State in the 2023 Sweet Sixteen, he holds the Division I NCAA Tournament single-game assists record. He formerly played for the Little Rock Trojans.
Under the direction of Hall of Fame Coach Bob Hurley Sr., Markquis Nowell started his high school career at the storied basketball powerhouse St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. He transferred schools after obtaining little playing time following his freshman year to play with Julian and Justin Champagnie at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School during his sophomore and junior years.
As a junior, he had 19.9 scores and 8.1 assists per game. He relocated to The Patrick School for his senior year and managed 10.9 points per game despite being absent for a month due to injuries. Until Little Rock took a look at him after high school, he had had no Division 1 offer.
Markquis Nowell had an 11.1 point, 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game average as a rookie. As a sophomore, he scored 17.2 points, handed out 4.9 assists, and grabbed 3.0 rebounds a game. First Team All-Sun Belt honours were given to Markquis Nowell. Due to disciplinary issues, he was banned for two games in January 2020.

The 5-foot-8 playmaker was born to Marcus Nowell Sr. and Kisha Morales on December 25, 1999, in New York City. He was brought up in Brooklyn and Harlem with his three brothers, Marcus Jr., Marius, and Marek. He attended three high schools before completing his studies at The Patrick School in New Jersey.
The four kids of Marcus Nowell Sr. and Kisha Morales were raised in New York's Harlem and Brooklyn. Markquis' mother is listed as 5-foot-1 and his father as 5-foot-9 by Kansas State Sports. Despite their little stature, Marcus Sr. influenced his son's passion for basketball.
In contrast, Morales was a New Yorker born and reared in Spanish Harlem. According to Sportslulu, she presently resides in Brooklyn and works as an incurrence and AR File clerk for a real estate firm. In Roschelle, New York, she has been employed with SW Management LLC since 2012.
In 2017, Morales, who is also an aspiring writer, released a book named "Vindictive: Revenge is a Lovely Sin." Both a paperback copy and a Kindle version are now offered on Amazon.com. She is the chief executive officer of Brooklyn-based independent publishing house Three Ring Publications Inc.
