At Unity Reed, he was ranked as the No. 10 defensive tackle by 247Sports. The four-star from Manassas was ranked the No.6 player in the state of Virginia and the 164th overall recruit in the class of 2021. Tyleik Williams committed to Ohio State over offers from Alabama, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, Ole Miss, Temple, Tennesse, and USC.

During Tyleik Williams' freshman season at Ohio State, Williams played in 12 games, recording 16 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks. The following year, as a sophomore, Williams appeared in all 13 games, registering 21 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. In 2023, as a junior, Williams recorded 53 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, and five pass breakups. In 2024, he was named to the All-Big Ten Conference Third Team, voted by coaches.
