Coming into the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils needed to win five out of five matches to qualify for the playoffs. The young batting line-up was up against the best bowling lineup of the season and DD made some changes to their batting order.

Maxwell opened the innings with Prithvi Shaw but he got in the second over in an unfortunate way was run out at the non-striker's end as he backing up a long way.

Shreyas Iyer, the captain of the Delhi Daredevils, joined the young Shaw in the middle and the pair put together 86 runs off 51 balls. Shaw was the aggressor of the two as he reached the half-century mark in 25 balls. On account of the partnership, Daredevils were 95-1 after 10 overs.

Iyer looked good with the bat as he scored 36-ball 44 but got out at a crucial juncture just at the start of the 16th over.

Rishabh Pant could not up the ante and SRH started pullings things back as they reduced the scoring rate by picking up wickets on a regular basis.

Thanks to Vijay Shankar who scored a 13-ball 23, Delhi Daredevils could set a stiff target of 164 against a side which hasn't performed great with the bat.

SRH's chase of 164 got a wonderful start as Alex Hales and Shikhar Dhawan scored 76 in nine overs. It was the experienced Amit Mishra who pulled the chase back a bit for by picking up the wickets of both the openers in consecutive overs.

Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey then put together a relatively slow but very important partnership during the middle overs. After the wicket of Pandey, in came Yusuf Pathan, who took SRH home with a match-winning 12-ball 27 run cameo.
