Arsenal’s legendary manager with Ozil addressing the media

Arsene Wenger’s future prospects depends on the team’s and the club record signing Mesut Ozil‘s performance this season. The legendary manager, who’s compared to the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, has just one year left under his contract.

Arsenal haven’t won a major trophy since 2005 and with the manager supplied with budget more than ever, it’s only obvious the club’s higher-ups expect something more than a mere fourth place finish this season.

“We are in no hurry,” Wenger said. “We are in September and my contract finishes in June. There’s a long way to go. There is no need to plan.”

“I have said many times I want to do well with this club and in the end I will sit down and think how well have I done with the team I have had. That has to be sufficient for me to decide yes or no.”

When questioned if his future depends on the team’s success the manager said, “One of the main judgements you can have about a manager is how well he does with his team.”

Arsenal face Sunderland in the Premier League this weekend in which Mesut Ozil is expected to feature.
