Ballistic Bale shows his class

Gareth Bale is one of the most talked about players in the world of football right now. Some suggest that he is similar to or even better than Cristiano Ronaldo and recently his manager Andre Villas Boas labelled him as the best player in the league. That sentiment wasn’t appreciated by everyone but today went a long way in telling us exactly what AVB was trying to say.

Sometimes misery gives you the best solution” and it proved to be the case as with Defoe injured and Adebayor just back from the AFCON, it gave Villas Boas the chance to let Bale play centrally and Bale surely made the most of it. That’s 10 goals in his last 12 games and 13th of the season, by far his best scoring season ever. And it was not only about the goals, that second half display from Gareth Bale.

If we do talk of the goals he scored tonight, first goal was a touch of absolute brilliance. There are very few players who can do that, getting the ball up and down the wall so quickly. The second one was a touch of sheer class, showing exactly how confident he is right now in front of the goal. Spurs fans do hope and somehow know that he will score all the time when he plays.

Bale certainly carried his team tonight. Whenever the ball went to his feet, an expectation rose around the ground. In my opinion, he is too good to be stuck on the left. He should be given a free role and dare I compare him to Cristiano Ronaldo, should do what Ronaldo does for Madrid. Yes they also have a striker in Higuain or Benzema up front but Ronaldo is the main man all the time and I feel Bale is ready to take up that role for Tottenham.

These days no article about Bale is complete without a call of whether or not he will stay at Spurs next season. And I will not be any different. Rather, I say we should not discuss this right now and just enjoy one of the finest players in the world. For me, Spurs are playing with Bale and for Bale as well at this moment, because every player in that side looks up and passes the ball to him because he is the best player in the team!

Everyone knows at this time that the best chance to keep him at the club is to gain qualification to the Champions League and Spurs are certainly on the right track with 3rd position on the table. Spurs aren’t too far from a title winning side, some of you might laugh at me but if they get couple of decent defenders and a couple of classy midfield players, they aren’t too far from competing with City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Man United even!
