Arsenal are one of only four clubs to win at least three titles in the Premier League era. The Gunners were a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League in the late 90s and 2000s. But they have been a pale shadow of their illustrious selves in recent years.

Last season, Arsenal failed to qualify for Europe for the first time in more than two decades. The Gunners started their 2021-22 campaign on a disastrous note, losing their first three games; they are now up to eleventh after seven games.

Considering their pedigree and rich history, many fine goalscorers across positions have turned up for Arsenal over the years, especially in the Premier League. On that note, here's a look at the Gunners' highest-scoring XI in the Premier League era.

The 58-year-old won three league titles (two in the Premier League era) with the Gunners. Seaman made close to 350 Premier League appearances, with all but 19 of them coming with Arsenal.

Seaman, who also won four FA Cup titles, kept 141 clean sheets in the Premier League. Only three other goalkeepers have kept more shutouts in the competition than the Englishman.

Ashley Cole is one of the finest full-backs of the Premier League era. The 40-year-old is a three-time Premier League winner, winning league titles with both Arsenal (1) and Chelsea (2).

Cole, a quintessential modern-day full-back, first made his name during his stint with Arsenal in the early 2000s. Though he didn't score in the Gunners' historic Invincibles campaign in 2003-04, Cole did provide four assists.

In his most prolific Premier League campaign for Arsenal, Cole scored thrice in the 2000-01 season in only 17 games.

Laurent Koscielny is Arsenal's most prolific goalscoring defender in the Premier League era. The Frenchman enjoyed a successful nine-season stint in North London, making over 250 league appearances.

Despite the Gunners being underwhelming in the Premier League during this period, Koscielny was one of their rare bright sparks. Koscielny scored at least two league goals in each of his nine Premier League campaigns with Arsenal.

The 36-year-old was also solid at the other end, helping the Gunners keep 90 clean sheets in the Premier League.

Thomas Vermaelen may not be the most well-known centre-back to have turned up for Arsenal. But the Belgian will be remembered by the club faithful for scoring key Premier League goals during his five-season stint at the club.

Vermaelen netted 13 league goals in five seasons at Arsenal, with the goals coming in only two campaigns (seven in 2009-10 and six in 2011-12).

Now in the J-League with Vissel Kobe, Vermaelen went on to win four La Liga and one Champions League with Barcelona following his Arsenal stint, before moving to Japan.

Lee Dixon is one of Arsenal's most successful full-backs in the Premier League. The 57-year-old is a four-time English league winner with the Gunners, with two of these titles coming in the Premier League era.

Dixon made over 300 appearances in the competition for Arsenal, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists. He scored some spectacular goals during his career, including a few from distance. His most prolific Premier League campaign with Arsenal was in 1999-00, when he netted three times.

With 619 appearances across competitions, Dixon is the fourth-most capped player in Arsenal's history.

Aaron Ramsey made his name as a world-class midfielder at Arsenal during an 11-season stint.

During this period, the Welshman made over 250 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 40 goals and registering nearly 50 assists. Capable of playing across a plethora of positions across the middle and attacking third, Ramsey scored in every league season except his first in 2008-09.

Though he didn't win a Premier League title, Ramsey had a knack for scoring key goals. He scored the winners for Arsenal in the 2014 and 2017 FA Cup finals. In his most prolific Premier League campaign in 2013-14, the now-Juventus midfielder scored ten times.


# Central Midfielder - Cesc Fabregas (35 goals)

Cesc Fabregas made his Premier League debut with Arsenal at the age of only 17. Suffice to say, the Spaniard has had a successful stint in the competition with the Gunners, even though he won both his Premier League titles with Chelsea.

Fabregas scored 35 goals, but picked up an impressive 73 Premier League assists in eight seasons with Arsenal. The assist king registered at least ten assists in five consecutive Premier League campaigns, including four with Arsenal.

Fabregas' most prolific Premier League campaign in 2009-10 saw the young Spaniard rack up 15 goals and as many assists. Now at AS Monaco, Fabregas is one of a handful of players with 50 goals and 100 assists in the Premier League.


# Defensive Midfielder - Patrick Vieira (28 goals)

Patrick Vieira is one of the best defensive midfielders to have graced the Premier League. The Frenchman is one of a handful of players to win three Premier League titles with Arsenal, including the 2003-04 Invincibles triumph.

During an illustrious decade-long stint in the Premier League, Vieira made over 300 appearances, with 279 of them coming with Arsenal. Despite playing in a deep-lying midfield role, Vieira scored at least once in each of his 11 Premier League campaigns.

The Frenchman's most prolific Premier League campaign with Arsenal was in 2004-05, where he scored six times and also provided four assists. Vieira is currently in charge of Premier League club Crystal Palace.

Marc Overmars is one of the most prolific goalscoring Arsenal wingers in Premier League history. The Dutchman amassed 25 league goals for the Gunners in only three seasons at the club.

Overmars made a flying start to life in the Premier League, scoring 12 times and registering five assists in his first campaign in the competition in 1997-98. The following season, the Dutchman made 19 goal contributions (six goals and 13 assists), helping the Gunners win their second Premier League title.

The 48-year-old went on to play for four seasons at Barcelona after leaving Arsenal before retiring at Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles in 2008-09.

Thierry Henry is one of the greatest centre-forwards to have graced the Premier League. Originally a winger, Henry was converted into a centre-forward by then Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, and the rest is history.

The Frenchman scored a rich haul of 175 Premier League goals, scoring all but one of those goals in eight consecutive seasons with the Gunners. Henry was a quintessential goal-poacher, plundering at least 17 Premier League goals in his first seven campaigns in the competition.

A 2021 Premier League Hall of Fame inductee, Henry won two Premier League titles and a record four Golden Boots (three of them consecutively).

It's perhaps unsurprising that Henry was Arsenal's star performer in their historic 2003-04 Invincibles triumph, scoring 30 goals. After winning a continental treble with Barcelona, Henry returned for a short stint with the Gunners in 2011-12, scoring once.


# Right Winger - Theo Walcott (65 goals)

Theo Walcott is Arsenal's most prolific goalscoring winger in the Premier League.

Once touted as a Thierry Henry in the making, Walcott never reached those exalted heights. But he enjoyed a decent stint with the Gunners, racking up over 100 goals across competitions, including 65 in the Premier League.

Walcott's most prolific Premier League campaign with Arsenal saw him score 14 times in the 2012-13 season. Now at Southampton, the 32-year-old has scored just three Premier League goals for them in 24 appearances across two seasons.
