Manager of the month award: April 2013

Last week, we conducted a poll for Manager of the Month for April 2013, where we selected the best managers in terms of performances in the month of April from across all the major leagues in Europe.

The nominees for the Manager of the Month awards were:

1. Jupp Heynckes (Bayern Munich)2. Jürgen Klopp (Borussia Dortmund)3. Antonio Conte (Juventus)4. Jose Mourinho (Real Madrid)5. Walter Mazzarri (Napoli)

From the readers that took part in the poll, Jupp Heynckes, manager of Bayern Munich, emerged as the winner of the contest for the second time as he won our poll for the manager of the month in march as well. The Bayern Munich boss won with a percentage of 42.76%, beating his nearest rivals Jose Mourinho (29.17%) of Real Madrid and Jürgen Klopp (25.44%) of Borussia Dortmund by a fair margin, thus becoming the Manager of the Month for April.

Bayern Munich had a very busy schedule in April and many expected fatigue to take its toll but the Bavarians seemed to be unfazed by it. They started offwith two superb victories against Juventus at the Fussball Arena Munchen and the Juventus Arena. Bayern Munich also claimed their title in April by a 1-0 win away at Frankfurt. The Bavarians also put six past Wolfsburg in the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal and Hamburg in the Bundesliga before wrapping up the month defeating Freiburg in Munich.
