Rumour: Manchester United told they have “no chance” of signing Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller

Only Mario Mandzukic (18) scored more goals than Muller (13) in the Bundesliga for Bayern last season.

Muller, 24, has been linked with a move to Man United to rejoin with his former Bayern manager van Gaal, who first gave him his chance in first-team football at the club.

Van Gaal, who is charge of the Netherlands at the World Cup, will officially take over at Man United after the tournament and has already got to work on potential targets he would like to take with him to Old Trafford.

Muller was one of those players, as the German had apparently made it clear that he would like to join Van Gaal at Man Utd. Van Gaal was hoping to make Muller his first signing at Man United.

However, the Dutchman has been told he will not be able to sign the forward.

Fjortoft, a former Premier League footballer for Middlesbrough, is well connected at Bayern Munich and called the Toni Kroos rumours correctly over the past few weeks and months.

It seems that Man United’s pursuit of Thomas Muller may well be over.

Muller has scored 99 goals in 256 appearances for Bayern Munich.
