What's the story?

Manchester United talisman Paul Pogba reacted to his side's victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, claiming that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men knew exactly how to brush the Blues aside. The World Cup winner also rued over last season's trophy-less exploits and added that the English giants are desperate to land silverware at Old Trafford.

In case you didn't know...

Manchester United have restored their rhythm and confidence back under the caretaker boss, with just one defeat and a draw so far in 13 outings, with crucial wins against Tottenham in the league and Chelsea and Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Against Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup, the Red Devils took the attack to the opposition, created the better opportunities, and demoralized Maurizio Sarri's men by 2-0, with Pogba starring courtesy of a goal and an assist.

The heart of the matter

He set up Ander Herrera with a delightful cross, before finding himself in the six-yard box to nestle home the second goal and thereby, steer Manchester United into the quarterfinals, where Wolverhampton Wanderers lay in wait.

Regarding the loss to PSG and the hunger to succeed against Chelsea, Paul Pogba lifted the lid saying:

"Losing a game after 11 games without losing hurts and it's a really bad feeling, so you don't want this to happen again."

The 26-year-old affirmed that the team had the blueprint that would pile further misery on Chelsea.

"We knew how to hurt them, (by) running behind their midfielders. Two runs in the box, two goals. My job as a midfielder is not to score goals, it's more to make assists. But when I get a chance to score goals it's a great feeling."

Despite the horrendous start to the season, Pogba is determined to win trophies this season. He added:

"All the competitions are important. We want to win something. Last year we didn't win any trophies. I still remember that. This year we want to win something."

What's next?

Manchester United will be hoping to continue their sublime form when they host fierce rivals Liverpool on 24 February. The reverse fixture saw the Reds run over Mourinho's side, but Solskjaer's Red Devils are a different proposition altogether, which is sure to infuse more prestige and bite to the fixture.
