Arsenal or Manchester City? Emmanuel Petit predicts winner of the Premier League this season

Emmanuel Petit has predicted the winner of the Premier League this season, choosing between Arsenal and Manchester City.

The title race this season came down to the wire between both clubs, along with Liverpool, who were at the top of the table for some time. However, Jurgen Klopp's men have dropped points after a shocking dip in form. Before drawing with West Ham in their most recent game, they lost to Everton and Crystal Palace and played a draw against Manchester United.

Essentially, they have picked up only five points in their last five games out of a possible 15 points, and this has seen them dip on the table. They now sit in third place behind Manchester City and Arsenal, both of whom remain in winning form and look unlikely to drop any points.

With both sides set to keep fighting till the final matchday of this English Premier League season, Emmanuel Petit has predicted who will win. The former Gunners man told TalkSPORT (via TBR Football):

“I used to be like at the beginning of the season, I think City were ahead of Arsenal. But, I think it might change this season. Obviously, they don’t have their destiny in their hands because City have two (one) games in a row and if they win it, they have two points lead. But, I still believe, somewhere."

He added:

“I don’t see the best of City this season, especially in defence. I think they look more vulnerable. This is why I think, Arsenal, the way they reacted, scoring five goals against Chelsea, they know how important the game is coming on Sunday against Tottenham. I’m very confident. I still believe Arsenal are going to win the Premier League.”

Arsenal will need to beat Tottenham Hotspur in order to stay in title race with Manchester City

With 76 points, Manchester City sit in second place, right behind the Gunners, who are in first place with 77 points. However, the Cityzens seem to have the upper hand as they sit only a point behind with a game in hand, and if they win that game, they will go two points ahead.

This will not be on the Gunners' mind when they visit Tottenham Hotspur for the North London derby. Mikel Arteta's men will need to win their remaining four games of the season and hope that Manchester City drop points along the way.

However, the Spurs are not going to make it easy for their city rivals. They sit in fifth place, seven points away from guaranteed UEFA Champions League slots, and they will be looking to start reducing that gap.
