Arsenal players spark wild celebrations inside dressing room after 3-2 derby win against rivals Tottenham as details emerge

Arsenal players relished wild celebrations at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a 3-2 Premier League victory against their north London rivals on Sunday (April 28).

With their first league title since 2004 in sight, the Gunners managed to beat Ange Postecoglou's outfit in an away trip. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg put the ball into his own net in the 15th minute of the derby before Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz helped in tripling their lead.

Tottenham found a way back into the match after Cristian Romero made the most of David Raya's error in the 64th minute. Heung-min Son converted a penalty-kick in the 87th minute, but unluckily to no avail.

According to The Sun, a host of Arsenal players celebrated with their fans after the conclusion of the recent north London derby. Declan Rice clenched his fists with a smile on his face, while team captain Martin Odegaard roared in delight to revel in the ecstatic moment.

Saka, who bagged his 19th goal of the season against Tottenham, tried to wind up the home fans by cupping his ears after his goal. Havertz, meanwhile, shushed the home crowd after heading in from a corner.

The Gunners, who finished second with 84 points last season, are currently on 80 points from 35 games. Manchester City, on the other hand, are just behind them in second place with 79 points from 34 games.

Gary Neville heaps praise on Arsenal staff

After Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's own goal from a corner by Bukayo Saka, Manchester United legend Gary Neville shared his thoughts on the opener. He told Sky Sports (h/t Mirror):

"They've got the first goal, and it has been the same Arsenal set-up all year, and it's been good all year. Ben White the nuisance, the five big lads at the back getting across that near-post and [Takehiro] Tomiyasu does just enough. He just blocks Hojbjerg and he can't get a full head on it. He just glances it and the goalkeeper, [Guglielmo] Vicario, it's past him in a flash... got no chance."

Hailing Arsenal's set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, Neville continued:

"Arteta jumps up and there he is, the set-piece coach. He's a little nuisance that set-piece coach, but he's damn good!"

Jover, who is a German-born French coach, joined the Gunners from Manchester City in 2021 on former colleague Mikel Arteta's advice.

Arsenal, who have lost just five league games this campaign, will next be in action against Bournemouth in their league encounter on May 4.
