Tabloids in Spain are speculating the idea of Real Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona beating them to the £52m signing of Liverpool starlet Luis Suarez who has been heavily linked with a move away from the Premier League.

As per as the news reported by Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, Suarez’s move to Barcelona is at a far more advanced stage with him being their main target this summer window.

If the move does go through, the 27-year-old will be the second player to have snubbed Real Madrid for Barcelona after Brazillian forward Neymar had signed a five-year deal with the Blaugrana.

Eurosport, among many other websites are confirming Barcelona’s interest:

Suarez has a release clause of £68m in his contract, but according to Mundo Deportivo, the asking amount could go down up to £52m if either of the two clubs, or any foreign club for that matter, are to express an interest.

In an article, Mundo Deportivo points at the three factors that could lure the Uruguyan hitman to Barcelona, among which the fact that Suarez’s wife Sofia Balbi and their newly born baby have moved into a house at Castelldefels, a municipality in the province of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. Surprsingly, their house is only a few meters away from Barcelona’s new manager Luis Enrique , who lives in Gava Mar.
