DOA developer Team Ninja recently stated on Twitter that they will be revealing a new character for the upcoming Dead or Alive 5 Last Round next week. The developers posted a teaser shot of a character from behind with this text: “Psst…We’ll tell you on January 15th” .
Going by the image, the new character seems female (which isn’t too hard to guess, given that most of DOA’s fighters are female). She has long pink hair and a purple glove with a skull on it which could mean that she is a younger (probably teenage) character. Hopefully the new character does not garner as much negative responses as Tekken’s 7 latest character, Lucky Chloe.
Tecmo Koei had revealed last year that one of the game’s oldest villains Raidou will be making a comeback in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. The character appeared in the original Dead or Alive as the final boss but has not been featured in any of the DOA games since. Raidou will now be part of cyborg with a unique ability to learn his opponent’s move.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will consist of new characters, new costumes and a bigger roster. The game is slated to release on February 17th in North America and on February 20th in Europe. It will be available for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
