Ludvig Aberg knows that both teams competing for the 2023 Solheim Cup want and need all the support they can get. He also knows that when that support comes from this season's rookie sensation in men's golf, it adds a special touch. That's why the Swede didn't hesitate to offer it.

Ludvig Aberg is at Finca Cortesin to support the European team that is facing America in the Solheim Cup. He announced it on Thursday and assured that he will be the "biggest fan" of the Europeans.

Ludvig Aberg stated on Golf Monthly:

"My caddie Jack Clarke, his fiancee Madelene Sagstrom is playing. We are going to be down there playing and practising so it made a lot of sense for us to go there for a few days. I am really looking forward to it. I'll be their biggest fan."

Despite his youth, Ludvig Aberg understands the spirit of team tournaments and the feeling of representing a country or continent. During his junior and amateur years, Aberg was called on several occasions for such tournaments.

He played in the 2017 European Boys' Team Championship, the 2018, 2019 and 2021 European Amateur Team Championships, the 2018 Junior Golf World Cup, the 2020 and 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup and the 2022 Eisenhower Trophy.

In the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup, Aberg even shared a team with compatriots Linn Grant and Maja Stark, who are now members of the European team competing in the Solheim Cup.

Interestingly, Aberg, Grant and Stark all attended the Riksidrottsgymnasium sports high school in Helsingborg, Sweden.

Ludvig Aberg: From the Solheim Cup to the Ryder Cup

The Swede's presence at Finca Cortesin is not only to support the European team at the Solheim Cup but also train at the same time. He also wants to recharge his batteries for the most important commitment of his career to date.

"It is really cool for me to be in this environment," Ludvig Aberg told Golf Monthly.

Exactly one week from today, on September 29, Aberg will tee off at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club as part of the European team for the Ryder Cup. He will join a 12-man team that also includes Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, Viktor Hovland, Robert Macintyre, Justin Rose, Sepp Straka, Nicolai Hojgaard and Shane Lowry.

Aberg will arrive in Italy in high spirits following his first professional victory at the Omega European Masters in early September.

A week ago, he joined the rest of the European team at the BMW PGA Championship. He also had a remarkable performance there, finishing T10. He had previously finished T4 at the Czech Open.

Ludvig Aberg turned pro just three months ago and is counting on an exemption to play on the PGA Tour in 2023 and 2024 thanks to being ranked No. 1 on the 2023 PGA Tour University.
