The second round of the 2024 PGA Championship has been delayed due to an accident near the Valhalla Golf Club. The round will not start at the scheduled time of 7:15 am ET on Friday, May 17.

Rich Beem, Sebastian Soderberg and Kazuma Kobori were going to be the first group to begin the second day. However, as per the latest statement from the organizers, the tee times have been pushed further due to an accident near the course. The officials will share the next update at 7 am ET.


Who is leading at the 2024 PGA Championship after Day 1?

Xander Schauffele took the early lead at the 2024 PGA Championship after shooting a low 9-under-62 in the opening round. At the end of the first day at Valhalla, he was three strokes ahead of the rest of the field. He had a bogey-free round on Thursday, May 16, and sank nine birdies.

Mark Hubbard, Tony Finau and Sahith Theegala were tied for second after posting 6-under. Rory McIlroy, Robert MacIntyre, Tom Hoge, Tom Kim, Thomas Detry, Collin Morikawa, and Maverick McNealy were in a seven-way tie for fifth place after shooting 5-under-66.

Defending champion Brooks Koepka carded 4-under 67. He is joined by Ben Kohles, Taylor Moore, Alex Noren, Austin Eckroat, and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in 12th place.
