That is all she wrote for this encounter but if the first three days of the European Cricket Challenge have been anything to go by, we are in for many more exciting duels over the next couple of days. We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this game as much as we did in bringing it to you - thank you so much for tuning in and do ensure to be back for five more tantalizing bouts in the ECC T10 2021, while also keeping yourselves up to date with all the cricketing news and action from across the globe, including the ongoing final of the Caribbean Premier League. For now though, on behalf of my co-commentator Bala, this is Sooryanarayanan humbly requesting you to stay safe and get yourselves vaccinated in case you haven't already. Good night and take care!
Well, that was quite a manic run chase from the Belgians! And if there was ever a doubt over the depth in the ammunition they had with regards to their batting, this game would have definitely doused those qualms. The wicket of Muneeb Muhammad in the first over and an aggravation to the injury that Aziz Mohammad picked up in the field, thereby forcing him to retire hurt, seemed to spell an innings of doom for the Belgians, despite the runs coming thick and fast in their chase of 129.

Skipper Sheikh Sheraz took matters into his own hands as he went about hitting some towering sixes to ensure that his side were on par with the asking rate. A flurry of wickets fell at the other end and Qudratullah Mir Afzal even found himself on a hat-trick for the Swedish though and by the time Sheraz departed, Belgium certainly had their backs against the wall.

There was only one way out of course and that was to throw the bat around at virtually everything. That it came for the loss of no further wickets eventually led to the chase ending up as a stroll at least if one were to take a direct glance at the scorecard. If one were to bear witness to the manner in which Faisal Mehmood and Shagharai Sefat put the Swedish bowlers to the sword though, you couldn't really blame them for having such a perception!

A monstrous 23-run 8th over was followed by the finishing touches in the penultimate over as both Sefat and Faisal combined for a mind-boggling 53 across the 18 deliveries that they faced, as their ballistic range-hitting took Belgium to their fifth consecutive win with as many as eight deliveries to spare!

The Swedish bowlers were not prepared to budge despite taking a tap as skipper Abhijit Venkatesh and Qudratullah Mir Afzal accounted for two wickets apiece. Khalid Zahid and Azam Khalil each had a wicket against their name but alas, the fact that each of them conceded far too many to their liking meant that it came back to bite the Swedish hard, subjecting them to their third defeat in the competition.
Golly! They've done it without breaking a sweat towards the end! Who would have imagined it given the regular spurt of wickets! Incredible run chase from Belgium - they win by 4 wickets with 8 deliveries to spare and make it five wins out of five!
9.0
8.5 Khalid Zahid to Shagharai Sefat, oh, what an anticlimax! Zahid angles one down the leg-side. That's a wide and Belgium chase this down with more than an over to spare
OUTRAGEOUS HITTING! Belgium have leveled the scores within the blink of an eye!
8.4 Khalid Zahid to Shagharai Sefat, SIX! That is all muscle! Short ball outside the off-stump. Sefat stands tall and slaps it over the cover boundary for a maximum. Scores are level
8.3 Khalid Zahid to Shagharai Sefat, short of a good length angling into the right-hander. Pulls it away to deep mid-wicket. The batters scamper through and Sefat puts in the dive to convert it into a couple
8.2 Khalid Zahid to Shagharai Sefat, length ball outside the off-stump. Sefat moves across the crease and has a go at it but gets beaten
8.1 Khalid Zahid to Shagharai Sefat, SIX! They are in a hurry here! Full ball on the stumps. Sefat clears the front leg and goes straight back over the bowler's head. Well over the long-off fence for a maximum
Khalid Zahid is back into the attack. He will bowl over the wicket.

Incredible hitting! Faisal Mehmood has gone bonkers with the bat and is powering his way to the target himself. The pressure seems to be back on the bowling side now with the target all off 15 runs away! A wicket is the dire need of the hour for Sweden!

7.6 Qudratullah Mir Afzal to Faizal Mehmood, SIX! Make it 23 off the over. That's a huge one for Belgium. Short ball from Afzal. Mehmood takes it on with a pull. Not the perfect connection, but just manages to clear the mid-wicket fence
7.5 Qudratullah Mir Afzal to Faizal Mehmood, FOUR! Short delivery outside the off-stump. Mehmood cuts it behind backward point. No chance for the fielder in the deep to cut it off
7.4 Qudratullah Mir Afzal to Shagharai Sefat, short of a length delivery angling into the right-hander. Pulls it away long the carpet to deep mid-wicket
There comes the 100 for Belgium!
7.3 Qudratullah Mir Afzal to Shagharai Sefat, SIX! Length ball angling into the right-hander. Sefat swings right across the line and makes good contact. Clears the cow corner fence and collects a maximum
7.2 Qudratullah Mir Afzal to Shagharai Sefat, length ball well wide of the off-stump. Sefat swings at it but makes no connection
7.1 Qudratullah Mir Afzal to Shagharai Sefat, SIX! Length ball outside the off-stump. Sefat makes a bit of room for himself and swings it right through the line. Clears the wide long-off fence
Right - Mir Afzal is back and is on a hat-trick. Can he pick up one?

Qudratullah Mir Afzal is back into the attack. He will bowl over the wicket.

Jeez, just when you think that the game is in the bag for Sweden, the Belgians keep sending out a reminder that they aren't going to budge. They continue to remain on par with the asking rate although they'd prefer an over now without losing a wicket as well to go with it.
