MMA News: Davy Gallon hoping for better prospects following rolling thunder KO

The epic moment that might have changed a career
The epic moment that might have changed a career

Davy Gallon is not exactly a novice MMA fighter. For the last nine years, he has delivered in the cage, fighting against some of the top names to have ever entered the Octagon. However, possibly the highest point of his career came only four days back when he delivered, what might well be one of the best knockouts of all time.

In a year where Ben Askren was knocked out by Jorge Masvidal's jumping knee and James Vick was knocked out via a vicious upkick, the knockout that everyone is currently talking about is the one that was delivered by none other than Gallon.

The Knockout of the Decade?

Gallon faced Ross Pearson in what was an extremely exciting fight, but what shocked everyone was the rolling thunder KO that Gallon delivered to Pearson in Round 3 of their matchup in Probellum 1.

Gallon revealed that this was a move that he had planned for a long time and had practiced in training often.

"I said, ‘Oh coach, come on. I want to try this kick.’ He told me, ‘You know it’s Ross Pearson? It’s a good guy. It’s a big fighter, you know?’ I said yeah, and he told me, ‘Okay, you can try the kick. But you have to do it at the end of the fight.'”

Now, that Gallon has been able to deliver a moment that will make him a household name for MMA fans, there is a good chance that UFC or Bellator may come calling, and that's something that Gallon is counting on.

“I hope all the work I did before will get more crazy with something like UFC or Bellator. Give me my chance and opportunity to fight a big fight against a big opponent. It’d be cool to do the same kick – only in the UFC cage.”
