Fabricio Andrade is certain that a knockout will happen when he takes on Jonathan Haggerty in their hyped-up champion vs. champion super fight at ONE Fight Night 16.

Reigning ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Andrade will face Haggerty, the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, in the main event of ONE Fight Night 16 on November 3 at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

The two world champions will contend for two-sport supremacy with the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title hanging in the balance.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Andrade said he’ll take the win and the second world title of his career by knockout.

The only question is when that highlight reel finish will happen.

Fabricio Andrade said:

“I plan to knock him out inside of five rounds. It doesn’t matter when, it doesn’t matter how. I’m just gonna take him inside the five rounds.”

While many observers feel Andrade is at a disadvantage fighting Haggerty in a pure striking match, ‘Wonderboy’ is confident his kickboxing and Muay Thai background gives him the proper foundation for such a contest.

Before jumping to mixed martial arts, Andrade was a successful kickboxer and Muay Thai artist with an impressive 40-3 record.

The Brazilian superstar, however, eventually decided that MMA was the way to go and signed with ONE Championship in 2020.

After a submission win over Mark Abelardo in his debut and a dominant unanimous decision win over Shoko Sato, Andrade went on a tear and racked up three straight knockouts en route to a world title shot.

Fabricio Andrade felled Li Kai Wen, Jeremy Pacatiw and Kwon Won Il to set up a world title fight against then-ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker.

While their first fight ended in a no-contest and Lineker got stripped of the belt due to missing weight, the two Brazilian powerhouses ran it back at ONE Fight Night 7 in February this year.

Andrade made sure he was walking out with the gold, and he secured a fourth-round technical knockout win over Lineker to capture the vacant world title.

ONE Fight Night 16 is ONE Championship’s 11th Amazon card of the year and is available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
