NASCAR has confirmed that it has signed a multi-year deal with HP, which will make the company an official technology partner of the series.

Previously NASCAR was in a business related partnership with HP to develop its Fan and Media Engagement Center (FMEC), to provide information tailored to race teams, tracks and partners. With the signing of the contract on Monday they have taken their relationship to a new level.

The company can also experiment with other innovation sectors in the sport to come up with cutting edge technologies and solutions.

“As the largest spectator sport in the US, Nascar needs to stay on the cutting-edge of technology to innovate and deliver an engaging, fulfilling experience for its fans around the world,” said Charles Salameh, a vice president of HP.

Steve Phelps, the Nascar chief marketing officer said : “The expanded alliance underscores our commitment to accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge technology across our sport.

“Nascar has proven to be an effective vehicle to drive innovation and will be a powerful platform for HP to showcase its state-of-the-art products, services and solutions.”
