Video: Scott Dixon wins INDYCAR 400 in Pennsylvania

New Zealand’s Scott Dixon captured the Pocono INDYCAR 400 on Sunday (7 July) in Pennsylvania, USA, for his first win of the season.

The Pocono INDYCAR 400 took off from Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania on Sunday.

Marco Andretti started first, followed by reigning series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay and Canada’s James Hinchcliffe.

Hinchcliffe’s bid for his series-high fourth win was derailed when he tagged the wall heading into the first turn of the first lap.

With 28 laps to go, Dixon chased down Charlie Kimball and passed him on the inside to retake the lead.

Dixon dominated down the stretch of the race and became IndyCar’s eighth different winner this season.

Andretti led the most laps until fuel woes put him 10th. He ran out just after he crossed the finish line.

Dixon won for the first time this season and it was his 30th career IndyCar victory. He struggled all season and had led only one lap, at the Indianapolis 500.
