The New York Giants will have a rookie in their ranks for the next season by the name of Abdul Carter. He is a defensive end and played the 2024 season as a junior for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He committed to Penn State over offers from South Carolina and Ole Miss. Abdul Carter joined Penn State in June 2022 and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors as a freshman. He transitioned from linebacker to defensive end in 2023 and has since been recognized as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2024.

Carter enrolled at Penn State in June 2022. He played a significant role as a linebacker during his freshman year, finishing the season with 56 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks, which led the team. His performance earned him second-team All-Big Ten honors. In his sophomore season, Carter started all 13 games and accumulated 48 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. This season, Carter was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year after recording a career-high 60 total tackles and 10 sacks. Carter was selected as a semifinalist for the 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year, the Bednarik Award, the Lombardi Award, and the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
