Born on September 8, 2002, the Texas native attended and played high school football at DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas. Several scouting websites such as 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN ranked him among the top 30 defensive linemen coming out of high school. The Texas native decided to stay closer to home and joined the University of Texas where he played football for the Texas Longhorns football team.
