CJ Stroud was recognized as one of the best quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft class. Stroud was already a finalist for the Heisman Trophy twice (in 2021 and 2022), as a player for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Stroud broke nearly all collegiate records while studying in Human Development and Family Sciences at Ohio State.

Stroud, who was initially regarded as a 3-star recruit, finished high school as his class' third-best quarterback before deciding to play college football at Ohio State University.

The youngest of four kids, Stroud was born in Rancho Cucamonga, California. A successful high school career at Rancho Cucamonga High School saw him win offensive player of the year honors after throwing for 3,878 yards and 47 touchdowns. He was the Elite 11's MVP for the year 2019.

CJ Stroud did not attend the Manning Passing Academy. Stroud decided to use the days leading up to the NFL Draft to practice with his Ohio college teammates.

An annual four-day football clinic called the Manning Passing Academy is hosted at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The four positions it is intended to coach are tight end, wide receiver, running back, and quarterback.

The football clinic/workshop is run by the illustrious Manning Brothers. The Manning Passing Academy is an esteemed training event for high school football recruits. College players often work as counselors at the academy and participate with players and aid in development.

Stroud was drafted with the number 2 overall pick by the Houston Texans and he had a terrific rookie year as he led the franchise to a stunning turnaround. The Texans went 9-6 in the 15 games he started and also made it to the playoffs when they were expected to be one of the less-performing teams. Stroud earned the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for his performances throughout the 2023 NFL season.
