In the 2012 Rose Bowl and the 2014 Sugar Bowl, he was chosen to be the referee. Apart from his officiating career, Allen is executive director of the N.C. Senior Games. For the Southern Officials Association, Allen has been reported to work as clinic leader and booking supervisor
