27-year-old cornerback Jaire Alexander (as of September 2024) is a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers as of 2024. Alexander has risen to become one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks. He's racked up 12 interceptions and 282 tackles as of October 2024. He made a big play, by intercepting a pass from Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott in the Wildcard Round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs. This INT set up the Packers in the red zone and led to a TD that boosted the team to a 14-0 lead for the Packers, which eventually paved the way to a 48-32 beatdown of the Cowboys.
Alexander has twice been nominated to both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro Second Team. He was also named the 2018 PFWA All-Rookie Team.
Jaire Alexander College
Before reaching stardom in the pros, Alexander played college football at the University of Louisville from 2015-2017, coincidentally in the same period as now Baltimore Ravens’ star QB Lamar Jackson.
Alexander had originally committed to the University of South Carolina but eventually committed to playing for the Louisville Cardinals. During his three seasons at Louisville, he developed from a promising freshman into a lockdown cornerback and dynamic punt returner.
Alexander earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2016 and helped transform the Cardinals' once-struggling defense into an intimidating unit. He made an immediate impression as a true freshman in 2015, appearing in 10 games and notching 1 interception, while also handling punt return duties.
Alexander kicked his play into another gear during a breakout 2016 sophomore season. He started all 13 games for Louisville, leading the team with 5 interceptions. His following Junior season was disrupted by related injuries, even though Alexander starred in the 6 games he managed to play.
In three collegiate seasons, Alexander compiled 77 total tackles, 7 interceptions, 15 passes defended, 1 punt return TD, and 1 forced fumble. His playmaking prowess in all phases marked him as an enticing NFL prospect.
Jaire Alexander Draft
