Jonathan Gannon is an American football head coach for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL. He was an all-around athlete in high school, as he was a state champion in both football and basketball for Saint Ignatius High School. He was a promising football player at the University of Louisville until a leg injury cut short his playing career. However, this unfortunate injury led him to become an NFL coach.

Gannon’s first step into coaching was at Louisville, where he acted as a volunteer and a graduate assistant. His NFL career in 2007, when he became the defensive quality control coach for the Atlanta Falcons launched his career in professional football.

Jonathan Gannon was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 4, 1983. Gannon’s father, Jim Gannon, died at 58 in 2007 and his mother is Janice.

In May 2024, Gannon and his family purchased a property near Scottsdale and McDonald roads for $10.02 million, according to Arizona Sports. This impressive residence spans 6,775 square feet and sits on an acre of land. The house boasts six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, providing ample space for Gannon and his family.

The property features a heated pool and a fire pit with waterfalls. One of the most striking features of the home is its 13-foot glass walls.

In February 2023, Jonathan Gannon agreed to a five-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. This contract came on the heels of his successful stint as the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. Atlanta Falcons (2007)

Gannon's NFL coaching journey began in 2007 with the Atlanta Falcons. He was hired as a defensive quality control coach, following Bobby Petrino to the National Football League.

St. Louis Rams (2009-2011)

In 2009, Gannon transitioned to a different aspect of football operations, when he joined the St. Louis Rams as a college scout. His skills were quickly recognized, and he was promoted to pro scout in 2010. Gannon's time with the Rams ended in 2011

Tennessee Titans (2012-2013)

Gannon returned to coaching in 2012 when he was hired by the Tennessee Titans. He served as a defensive quality control coach for two seasons for the 2012 and 2013 NFL seasons.

Minnesota Vikings (2014-2017)

In 2014, Gannon joined the Minnesota Vikings as their assistant defensive back and defensive quality control coach. He remained in this position for four seasons, until 2017.

Indianapolis Colts (2018-2020)

Gannon's next step came in 2018 when he was hired by the Indianapolis Colts as their defensive backs and cornerbacks coach. Working under head coach Frank Reich, Gannon continued to develop his expertise in secondary coaching. He remained with the Colts until 2020.

Philadelphia Eagles (2021-2022)

In 2021, Gannon's career took a significant leap forward when he was appointed as the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. His success with the Eagles' defense, particularly in the 2022 season that culminated in a Super Bowl appearance, caught the attention of teams looking for head coaching candidates.

Arizona Cardinals (2023)

His two-year stint with the Eagles proved to be successful and eventually landed him his biggest break. Gannon was hired as a head coach of the Arizona Cardinals team on February 14, 2023, two days after losing in the Super Bowl with the Eagles.

Gina Gannon, the wife of Arizona Cardinals' head coach Jonathan Gannon, is a successful professional in her own right. As a national TV presenter, live event host, and self-described foodie, she has carved out a notable career in media and entertainment.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Gina developed a passion for television and hosting at a young age. She pursued this interest academically, earning a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Temple University. During her studies, Gina gained valuable experience through an internship at a local television station, setting the foundation for her future career.

Before joining 6ABC, Gina started her professional career working as an ‘Action News’ traffic reporter in 2016. She held various positions at the station which included hosting live Facebook discussions, presenting features on animals, and being involved in live charity and fundraisers for charitable organizations. As of September 2024, she offers traffic updates on the Delaware Valley for Action News, every Friday, between 4 and 5 in the evening.
