Super Bowl XXXVII

Mike Tomlin was the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during this time. Super Bowl XXXVII was held between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders on January 26, 2003, to establish the champion for the 2002 NFL season. During the first quarter of the game, both teams were competitive with each other. Buccaneers like Aaron Stecker, Brad Johnson, Joe Jurevicius, Michael Pittman, Martin Gramatica, and Dexter Jackson contributed to helping the team against its opponents. In the second quarter, Tom Tupa, Karl Williams, Mike Alstott, and Keenan McCardell restricted their opponents to 20-3.

During the third quarter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kept on dominating their opponents, with the final score at the end of the quarter being 34-9. In the fourth and final quarter, the opponents tried to make a comeback, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers used Derrick Brooks to place the Raiders at a disadvantage. Ultimately, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII against the Oakland Raiders with a score of 48-21.

Super Bowl XLIII

Mike Tomlin won this Super Bowl as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was held between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals on February 1, 2009, to establish the 2008 NFL season champion. During the first quarter, Steelers players like Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward, and Heath Miller kept the Cardinals at bay.

Jeff Reed also scored an 18-yard goal to get a 3-0 lead against the Cardinals. In the second quarter of the game, the Steelers focused more on their defense. Although the Cardinals started getting momentum for the first time since the game started, it was not enough to overcome their opponents. The halftime score saw the Steelers lead the Cardinals with a score of 17-7.

In the third quarter of the game, the Steelers scored with another long drive. The Cardinals were unable to stop their opponents because they received three personal foul penalties in this quarter. Jeff Reed of the Steelers scored another goal and brought the score to 20-7.

Finally, in the fourth quarter, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ performance overcame the Cardinals, and they won the Super Bowl. The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals with a score of 27-23. Ben Roethlisberger helped to establish a Steelers record for most Super Bowl wins by a team.
