Morgan Freeman or Bruce Willis? Ex-NFL star Vernon Davis makes his pick between his new colleagues (Exclusive)

Vernon Davis played alongside some NFL greats during his 14-year NFL career. Following his retirement from the league in February 2020, Davis has found himself sharing the big screen with some Hollywood giants. This includes Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman and action star Bruce Willis.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, Davis spoke about one of these A-list actors and his role in the movie they starred in together.

Davis said:

"I think the role with Morgan Freeman [in the movie 'The Ritual Killers']."

Last year, Vernon Davis starred with Willis in the movie "A Day to Die." The movie "The Ritual Killers" is currently out in theaters as Vernon Davis co-stars with Freeman.

Davis plays the role of Randoku, a serial killer who performs the ancient black magic practice of Muti. Check out the trailer for the movie below:

The Super Bowl-winning tight end also talked about a role that he enjoyed in a movie that's currently in post-production.

Davis added:

"It’s a movie called Tonic, where I played an award-winning jazz pianist. I really loved that role because it's a very intricate role, but I embraced it and I took on the character in a great way. It was a great journey.

"It felt good to be that character's name, Ricky Donahue, the movie's called Tonic. It comes out this year."

Vernon Davis played in over 200 games in the NFL. While the playing field is different, getting ready for a role in a movie is no different than getting ready for game day.

The former San Francisco 49ers star was asked about the similarities between preparing for an NFL versus a role in a movie. Davis said that there are many things in common between the two:

"I think there's a lot of similarities here with that. And I say that because playing in a movie role and getting ready for a game, it's like it's a preparation that you put in before you actually get to where you need to be, right?

"And that's like, if you think about it playing, getting ready for a game, I have to put all the work that I possibly can then from catching balls on the drugs machine to just everything."

Davis concluded:

"And just like filming a movie, you have to make sure you're fully prepared. You've gone over your script, you've made your choices before you get in front of the camera. So there's a lot of similarities for sure."

Without question, the preparation is paying off for Vernon Davis as his talents are being known across Hollywood. Fans of the former Washington Commanders star will see a lot more of his work in the near future.
