The annual event will be taking place from 25 April through 27 April. Detroit was chosen as the location for the draft on 28 March 2022. The Fan Engagement & Major Events Advisory Committee and full ownership reviewed the proposal for the draft location and made the decision during the Annual League Meeting, to bring the draft to Motor City in 2024.
During this celebrated event, fans will have the opportunity to engage and participate in various music shows, interactive games and activities. The fans who come for the draft can also click pictures with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, a prize which all the players in the NFL dream of winning. How was Detroit chosen as the location for the 2024 NFL Draft
One of the reasons for Detroit being chosen for the 2024 NFL draft is the sales pitch that impressed the selection committee. An active fanbase, closeness to different sports markets, different college venues and the rich history of the city of Detroit were among the highlights of the pitch from the team.
The key factor during the selection was their plan to give back to the local community. A total of $1 million will be contributed by the Detroit Sports Commission and Visit Detroit. This will ensure to take care of the education, reduce literacy gap among the youth. These funds will also be used to encourage physical activity among the children, especially among girls.
The 2024 NFL Draft will be taking place in areas around Hart Plaza and Campus Martius. The Hart Plaza offers incredible sight from over the Detroit River. It has a capacity of 40,000. The Campus Martius on the other hand is 2.5-acre park, which hosts Parc restaurant and an outside bar.
