The 2024 NFL Draft is around the corner. It is another chance for all 32 teams to analyze their strengths and weaknesses based on the previous season and build a strong roster that can contend for the Super Bowl.

When is the 2024 NFL Draft?

Here are all the details you need to know about the draft:

NFL Draft time: April 25 (Round 1) - 8 p.m ET, April 26 (Round 2-3) - 7 p.m ET, April 27 (Round 4-7) - noon ET

Where is the 2024 NFL Draft taking place?

The 2024 NFL Draft will take place in April from 25th to 27th. The area around Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit will be the host for this year’s NFL Draft.

The previous edition of the NFL Draft took place in Kansas City. Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial served as the site last year.

What time will the 2024 NFL Draft start?

The 2024 NFL draft will begin at 8 p.m. ET on 25 April. This will be the opening night of the 2024 NFL draft and will only have Round 1 selections.

The Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, 26 April. The second night of the draft will feature Round 2 and 3 selections.

The final day of the 2024 NFL Draft will be starting earlier than Day 1 and Day 2, at noon ET on Saturday, 27 April. Day 3 will feature teams making selections from Round 4 through Round 7.

Following the conclusion of the 2024 NFL Draft on April 27, all the players who went undrafted will be able to sign as undrafted free agents with the teams interested in them. The UDFAs who are required on priority will be signing with the teams first. The remaining UDFAs will be evaluated during the minicamps before the teams make a final decision on the picks.

How long is each round of the NFL Draft?

We know that the 2024 NFL Draft will be happening from 25 April through 27 April. There are a total of seven rounds in the NFL draft, where each of the 32 teams will get a chance to make their selection. Here is how much time it will take between the draft picks in each round.

Round 1: 10 minutes.
Round 2: Seven minutes.
Rounds 3 through 6: Five minutes.
Round 7: Four minutes.

Round 1 of the NFL draft will be given the maximum time to make the selection. This is then followed by round 2. From round 3 through round 6, five minutes is given to the teams to make the selection. The last round, which is the shortest, will be given four minutes in between picks.

The time for the picks is identified through the process of making a draft pick. Every team will have a separate table at the location. After checking with the team’s executives, they’ll inform the same to their representatives, who’ll be present at the selection square.

These representatives will note the player’s name, their position and their college. Once this is done, they’ll submit it to the NFL runner, the official liaison between the league's staff and representatives.

After this is received, the selection is made final. The clock will be reset back for the next team to make their pick.
