Robert Longerbeam is a former collegiate football cornerback who was representing Rutgers University since 2020. Longerbeam ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, including a broad jump of 11 feet 2 inches, as per NFL's official website. Longerbeam was selected as the team captain in 2024 and was named All-Big Ten by coaches and media vote. Longerbeam was selected to play at the 2024 Shrine Bowl 1000 and was mentioned as Preseason All-Big Ten by the third team Athlon Sports.

During the 2023 season, he was placed fourth in the league with 0.85 passes defended in each game. He registered 43 tackles, 10 breakups, one interception and one sack each, as per Sports Reference.
