Who did Tom Brady Lose to in the Super Bowl?

New York Giants

The New York Giants have posed the most problems for Brady regarding his run of games in the Super Bowl. Out of his three Super Bowl losses Brady has had to face defeat twice against the New York Giants. He faced the Giants legend Eli Manning as his quarterback foe in both losses to the Giants.

Super Bowl XLII

Brady’s first ever Super Bowl loss put an end to his three Super Bowl win streak. The 2008 Super Bowl was played in the University of Phoenix Stadium. The Giants became the first NFC Wild Card team to win the Super Bowl in a close match which ended 17-14 in their favor. New England had won the final game of the regular season against the Giants but Brady failed to outshine the Giant’s defense on that occasion. This Super Bowl is one of the most watched Super Bowls ever and is considered as one of the best Super Bowl games to have ever taken place.

Super Bowl XLVI

Played in the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis the Super Bowl XLVI was another upset for the Patriots and Brady. The New York Giants entered the Playoffs as the team with the lowest win percentage (56.3%) in the regular season. In the Super Bowl they were however, leading the Patriots with a lead of 17-9 by the third quarter. Eli Manning finished the match with no interceptions. Brady lost out on the Super Bowl even with one more touchdown pass than Manning in the match.

Brady had a great game with a passer rating of 115.4 and a total of 505 passing yards in the match. His 3 touchdown passes were not enough as the Patriots went on to lose 41-33 against the Eagles.
