The NFL Super Bowl is the holy grail for all NFL players. Each team sweats it out on the field to get a chance to play for the Vince Lombardi trophy in the all-important Super Bowl match. No player in the NFL has made it to more Super Bowls than the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady. With 10 Super Bowl appearances, Brady has not only made it to the game more times than others, he has also won it more times than any other player.

Tom Brady was an unstoppable force in the Super Bowl as he managed to win it in his debut (2002). Brady went on to win the Super Bowl two more times (2004 and 2005) with the Patriots before he faced his first Super Bowl defeat in Super Bowl XXXVIII (2008) against the New York Giants. Brady’s second Super Bowl loss also came against the New York Giants in 2012. His third Super Bowl loss to date came in his penultimate Super Bowl appearance for the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brady went on to win a Super Bowl in his final Super Bowl appearance for the Patriots in 2019 against the Los Angeles Rams. He also won a Super Bowl in his debut season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Super Bowl LV in 2021).

Who did Tom Brady Lose to in the Super Bowl?

New York Giants

The New York Giants have posed the most problems for Brady regarding his run of games in the Super Bowl. Out of his three Super Bowl losses Brady has had to face defeat twice against the New York Giants. He faced the Giants legend Eli Manning as his quarterback foe in both losses to the Giants.

Super Bowl XLII

Brady’s first ever Super Bowl loss put an end to his three Super Bowl win streak. The 2008 Super Bowl was played in the University of Phoenix Stadium. The Giants became the first NFC Wild Card team to win the Super Bowl in a close match which ended 17-14 in their favor. New England had won the final game of the regular season against the Giants but Brady failed to outshine the Giant’s defense on that occasion. This Super Bowl is one of the most watched Super Bowls ever and is considered as one of the best Super Bowl games to have ever taken place.

Super Bowl XLVI

Played in the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis the Super Bowl XLVI was another upset for the Patriots and Brady. The New York Giants entered the Playoffs as the team with the lowest win percentage (56.3%) in the regular season. In the Super Bowl they were however, leading the Patriots with a lead of 17-9 by the third quarter. Eli Manning finished the match with no interceptions. Brady lost out on the Super Bowl even with one more touchdown pass than Manning in the match.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles faced all odds to defeat the New England Patriots and land their first-ever Super Bowl victory. Their Super Bowl victory was a classic underdog story although both the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles had reached the playoffs with strong performances in the regular season.

Super Bowl LII

Super Bowl LII saw the most yardage by two teams in any Super Bowl and also the most points scored by a losing team. Brady had a great game with a passer rating of 115.4 and a total of 505 passing yards in the match. His 3 touchdown passes were not enough as the Patriots went on to lose 41-33 against the Eagles. Nick Foles had fewer passing yards in the game than Brady but managed to help his team win their first Vince Lombardi trophy.
