He was selected as the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he recorded a total of 33 tackles including 20 solo tackles and 6 sacks, making it to the 2023 PFWA All-Rookie Team. By the end of the 2024 NFL season, he has recorded 75 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 6 pass deflections, and 1 defensive touchdown, according to Pro Football Reference.
Jalen Carter was born in Apopka, Florida on April 4, 2001. He started as a defensive tackle, punter and tight end at Apopka High School. He honed his skills as a defensive player and really grew into his defensive tackle role by his senior year. In his senior year, he recorded 12 sacks, and 64 tackles and even made a touchdown reception. He was selected to participate in the 2020 Under Armour All-American game. At the University of Georgia, Jalen Carter was pursued a major in Learning Design and Technology. He chose to forgo his senior year in college to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.
