New Delhi - A group of people, including children, will take part in the Delhi Half Marathon Sunday to spread awareness about cancer.

About 45 volunteers from Uday Foundation, an NGO working for spreading awareness about cancer, will run in the marathon starting from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and end outside the main stadium complex.

“The youngest member of our group is a 12-year-old boy from Delhi Police Public School and the eldest is a 60-year-old man. All members will be holding banners and placards having slogans and messages about fighting cancer,” said Rahul Verma of the organisation.

The NGO also got support from cricketer Yuvraj Singh, a cancer survivor himself.

“Awareness is key to defeat cancer. Kids with Uday Foundation running Delhi Half Marathon for children with cancer. Cheer for them,” Yuvraj tweeted from Sri Lanka where he is playing the T20 World Cup.
