WWE RAW 14th September 2015- 3 things that worked

Cena makes his way for his match against Sheamus.Raw had a few historical moments today. Firstly, Nikki Bella has broken AJ Lee’s record for the longest reign in the Divas Championship Title’s history and Sting had his first match on Monday Night Raw.In the midst of it all, some storylines continued and some matches happened where there was not much storyline put into it.But yet they worked. These can provide for some great moments in the future if managed well. These were good matches which can have great consequences if something was on the line.Here are the three things from Raw this week that worked despite a lack of storyline behind them-

#1 Paige Vs Sasha Banks

Paige and Banks wrestled quite a good match.

Sure, the Divas Championship match was the most hyped bout of this show but it was this match between Paige and Sahsa Banks that actually came out looking better. These two had nothing on the line except pride. Banks again defeated Paige and that should begin a storyline between these two where Paige is trying to figure out how to overcome The Boss.

Again, the womens division has got so many talented performers that multiple matches are great but what will be even better is if these matches were accompanied by multiple storylines.

#2 Cena Vs Sheamus

Sheamus did not tap out but he did lose via an AA.

This was another fun match between two of the strongest guys in the company. It was stiff and both of them got the chance to hit each other with some big moves until of course Cena made the Cena comeback and hit an AA for the pin and win. This match was made after the Authority thought that Sheamus and Cena are roadblocks for Big Show versus his match with Sting in the main event.

This was one of the better parts of the show.

#3 Rusev Vs Cesaro

The Swiss Superman takes on The Bulgarian Brute

Firstly, there’s Cesaro in match. Secondly, the immensely talented Rusev was doing something else apart from being embroiled in a He/she Loves- me-not angle with Summer Rae, Lana and Ziggler.

Ofcourse the saga continued but this match was a relief. It was short but worth every bit of it. These two can have great matches in the future. Cesaro is spectacular, always, in the ring. He won this match with an awesome roll- up. How often do you get to hear that about a roll- up?
