John Cena is all set to appear on Friday Night SmackDown this week. The show will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden and is already looking super stacked.

Cena returned to WWE a couple of months ago at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. He then started a feud against Universal Champion Roman Reigns, culminating in a title match in the main event of SummerSlam 2021 which Reigns won. The Summer of Cena was a lot of fun and his appearance on SmackDown might be the last time we see him before he goes off on another hiatus from WWE.

According to local listings, John Cena will team up with The Street Profits to take on Roman Reigns and The Usos in a dark match. If Cena does appear during the broadcast portion of SmackDown, here are five things he could do. Be sure to comment down and let us know your thoughts on the same.

#5 John Cena addresses his SummerSlam loss and acknowledges Roman Reigns

John Cena's appearance on SmackDown would be his first one after losing to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021. The feud between the two stars was loved by the fans, thanks to some amazing storytelling and fierce promo battles.

Now that Reigns has proven himself by defeating Cena at the pay-per-view, we might see Mr. Hustle Loyalty Respect address his loss to him and even "acknowledge" The Tribal Chief. This would be a great way to put over Roman Reigns, who has been absolutely brilliant with his current persona.

While he could not match Cena's level as a babyface, he has well and truly earned the respect of fans with his current run as a heel on SmackDown. The Tribal Chief has held the Universal Championship for over a year now and could hold on to it for a lot longer. Cena could cut one last promo on Roman Reigns, taking shots at him while also putting him over, being the genius he is on the mic

#4 John Cena teases a match for WWE Crown Jewel 2021

Despite being in the twilight part of his WWE career, John Cena remains one of the biggest draws for the promotion. Next month, the company will be returning to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel 2021. Like all previous editions, Vince McMahon would want to book some major names for the show and Cena might be one of them.

He could tease the same on SmackDown this week if he does appear on-screen. There are multiple names he could face at the pay-per-view, including Finn Balor. The Undertaker is also rumored to make his presence felt on the Blue brand this week. WWE might be tempted to bring him back from retirement for one final showdown against Cena, his WrestleMania 34 opponent.

#3 John Cena has a face-off against Brock Lesnar

Another interesting face-off that John Cena could have on SmackDown this week is against Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate is advertised to appear on the show and will likely start his feud against Roman Reigns.

Lesnar returned to WWE at SummerSlam last month after Reigns' victory over Cena in the main event. He went on to confront The Tribal Chief, who wisely retreated.

However, what was not shown on television, was Lesnar taking Cena to suplex city after SummerSlam went off the air. The latter could have a face-off against The Beast Incarnate on SmackDown this week, teasing a future match between the two.

#2 John Cena has a segment with Mr. Money in the Bank

During his recent WWE run, John Cena interacted with several younger stars. We saw him put over Riddle during his appearance on RAW, Bianca Belair during SmackDown, guide Dominik Mysterio during tag team matches, and many more. He could do the same this week on the Blue brand with a segment alongside Big E.

Mr. Money in the Bank has been involved in some hilarious backstage segments with Paul Heyman on SmackDown recently, continuing to tease a cash-in on Roman Reigns. He could have a segment with Cena this week, where the latter puts him over and motivates him to cash in on Reigns for the Universal Championship.

#1 John Cena bids adieu to the WWE Universe with a promise to return soon

While all the previous four points would lead to some sort of storyline development for John Cena, WWE could always simply book him in a "Thank you, I will be back soon" promo segment.

Cena is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time, and his absence surely made fans realize that fact. The level of energy and passion that he brings to the ring is unparalleled and the fans will surely miss that now that he is gone.

The Leader of Cenation could simply bid adieu to the WWE Universe on SmackDown this week, teasing his retirement, only to then claim that he will be back soon, among huge cheers.
