5 WWE Superstars who desperately need to turn heel
The whole concept of professional wrestling is built on the rules of kayfabe, where wrestlers are portrayed as heels and babyfaces in front of millions of fans. For decades, wrestlers have battled inside the squared circle with the heel putting over the fan-favorite in most cases.
Unfortunately, over the years, things have taken a slight turn. Wrestlers get cheered or booed by fans whether they're playing a good guy or a bad guy. Fans choose who they want to cheer and who they want to boo. This has often forced WWE's hand, leaving the company with no choice but to reverse its decisions. Becky Lynch is the most recent example. The Man turned heel after attacking Charlotte Flair last year but due to the fans refusing to boo her, she went back to playing the face role.
What a strange time we live in. A lot of Superstars are not being used to their full potential, as the creative team has nothing for them. Some of these wrestlers could benefit greatly by altering their character. With that being said, here are five WWE Superstars who desperately need to turn heel.
EC3 has what it takes to be a big star in WWE. He had a phenomenal run in TNA Impact Wrestling where he held the Impact World Championship twice. He returned to WWE in 2018, signing with NXT, where he had his best run in the entire company before moving to the main roster. Many people believed that the former 24/7 Champion would be a big star in WWE, but unfortunately, that has not been the case, as he's barely seen on TV.
The company doesn't have anything planned for him at the moment, which is a shame, considering how talented he is. He isn't unfamiliar with playing the heel role, as seen in Impact, and being portrayed as a face isn't doing anything for him right now. The best thing that could happen is for him to turn heel. Perhaps the company will take notice and use him better.
