Impact Wrestling News: Backstage update on Low Ki's return to Impact Wrestling

Low Ki is using a Hitman-based gimmick following his return to the Impact Zone.

Low Ki is set to return

What’s the story?

According to reports by PWInsider, Low Ki’s return to Impact Wrestling had, in fact, been determined a couple of weeks prior to his surprise return at April 20th’s Impact tapings.

Low Ki, who has also performed in the WWE as Kaval, returned to the Impact Zone as the 6th and final participant in the 6-Way X Division championship matchup that also served as the main-event of the evening. He reportedly used a Hitman-based ensemble and wrestled with the suit on, in the championship match.

In case you didn’t know...

The April 20th Impact tapings saw the return of Sonjay Dutt in a segment alongside Karen Jarrett, which in turn, saw Everett, Trevor Lee, Gregory Shane Helms as well as Bruce Prichard get involved.

Prichard declared that the main-event would be a 6-Way match for the X Division title, revealing Dutt, Everett and Lee as the first three participants. As the show progressed, Suicide and Dezmond Xavier were announced as the next two competitors in the matchup, with the final participant’s name being kept a mystery.

The heart of the matter:

The main event of Impact began and Low Ki was revealed to be the 6th and final participant in the championship matchup, following which the former X Division veteran defeated Dutt, Lee, Everett, Xavier and Suicide, winning the X Division championship for the 5th time in his career.

The 37-year old veteran whose real name is Brandon Jonathan Silvestry has signed a new contract with Impact Wrestling after he’d previously parted ways with the company back in 2015. Besides, the 19-year industry veteran wrestled in his ‘Hitman’ suit en-route his X Division title victory.

What’s next?

Low Ki presently holds the Impact Wrestling X Division title and fans can expect him to be booked opposite fellow performers such as Trevor Lee, Suicide, Sonjay Dutt and several other high-flyers in the weeks to come.

Author’s take:

Low Ki has returned to Impact Wrestling, for what will be his fourth stint with the company. The 5’8” X Division champion is presently trying a Hitman-inspired gimmick in an attempt to add some mystique to his character.

Well, with all the big names that have quit Impact in the past few months, it’s good to see a few familiar faces return to the Impact Zone. Here’s hoping the 4th time’s the charm for Agent Low Ki.
