WWE: Best match of RAW – Daniel Bryan vs Seth Rollins

D Bryan 1

Few performers get to do what they love in front of millions of people. You can talk about the actors or sportsmen, but the best of both worlds results in professional wrestling, and that is what makes it challenging and exciting at the same time. There is a reason why these performers fall in love with a business that demands a lot and returns very less. This past week on RAW, we got to witness something that happens very rarely. Two old foes met once again in the ring, and reminded everyone just why they were called the ‘Kings of Indies’. For all the passionate wrestling fans, it was a dream come true, as two familiar faces faced each other in the ring one more time, proving to the world why they were in the WWE, and why both of them are considered to be the future of the business.

This week on RAW, Daniel Bryan had to take on either Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns, and the fans got the opportunity to vote for Bryan’s opponent, and it was none other than Seth Rollins. Daniel Bryan faced Rollins before, when they were in Ring of Honor, as ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson faced Tyler Black, in what was one of the most amazing wrestling matches in Ring of Honor history. The WWE Universe got a chance to witness it once again, as Daniel Bryan took on Seth Rollins in what was yet another classic confrontation between two old rivals. In the end, the fans gave both the athletes their due as they gave out a lout ‘This is awesome’ chant.

As it often happens between two great technical wrestlers, the match started by trading move for move as Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins felt each other, and soon they picked up the pace, and Daniel Bryan played his ‘fiery underdog’ character to perfection. Seth Rollins came back into the match, getting in his offense against Bryan, as Randy Orton and Roman Reigns got to witness first – hand the technical expertise of the former ‘American Dragon’ and Tyler Black. Trading move for move, the fans stood on their feet as a German Suplex attempt by Rollins was responded by Bryan standing on his feet, and a Pele kick being countered into a half Boston crab.

If you had read my RAW review for this week, the match a four star rating out of a possible five. The match went for about 16 minutes, and these two have had better matches before. But it was refreshing to see WWE giving both the guys that amount of time to show their class, and in the end, Daniel Bryan came up with the upper hand as he defeated Rollins with an inside package. This Sunday, Bryan will team up with Randy Orton to take on The Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns for the WWE Tag Team championships. If this match is any indication of this Sunday, then we’re in for one of the best matches of the night, as Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins would want to replicate this week’s performance.
