#4. AEW star Lio Rush revealed he 'always butted heads' with Triple H in WWE

Former WWE star Lio Rush was a guest on Renee Young's Oral Sessions podcast, where he opened up about his past disagreements with Triple H.

Rush spent three years in the WWE and worked extensively under Triple H in NXT during the majority of his run. The former WWE Cruiserweight champion revealed that he constantly butted heads with the NXT boss for various reasons.

While Rush didn't go into the details of his arguments with Triple H, the outspoken star admitted that people in pro wrestling have different opinions about WWE's Cerebral Assassin.

Rush also touched upon his AEW signing and relationship with Tony Khan, and the former WWE star had nothing but praise for the AEW President. Lio Rush felt an instant connection with Khan and admitted that he wasn't always on the same wavelength as Triple H when he was in WWE.

The 26-year-old wrestler stated that he didn't want to work for bosses like Vince McMahon and Triple H and was glad that he came across Tony Khan.

Lio Rush is particularly impressed with Khan's drive and hunger to produce a compelling pro wrestling product.

"Tony is such a great guy. That played a huge part in me wanting to be in AEW too. I didn't want another boss like Vince McMahon. I didn't want another boss like Hunter. People have different opinions about Hunter, but we always butt heads for different reasons," revealed Lio Rush."
"I didn't feel like that with Tony," continued Rush, "I felt super connected with him and felt like he was relatable. I felt like he cared about the same things that the boys in the back care about. He felt hungry, driven, and passionate. I liked his energy, and I'm all about energy. I just knew it was right." H/t Fightful

Lio Rush was released from the WWE in April 2020, and he eventually signed a full-time deal with AEW on September 29th, 2021, after wrestling sporadically on the independent circuit for more than a year.

Drew Mcintyre and Big E's brawl from this week's RAW didn't end too well for the Scottish Warrior as he ended up busting himself open. McIntyre suffered a cut on his forehead above his right eye, with the bruise turning into a massive knot.

PWInsider reported that McIntyre's head injury happened due to an 'errant elbow' that he took outside. It was additionally reported that McIntyre was 'OK' backstage after the incident. Here's the PWInsider report regarding Drew McIntyre's status:

"For those who asked how Drew McIntyre ended up busted open last night, we are told it was an errant elbow on the outside. McIntyre was said to be OK backstage after the bout," reported PWInsider

JBL revealed during a recent YouTube Q&A that Brock Lesnar offered to lose a match against him at a WWE Live event in Abilene, Texas, back in 2002. JBL was considered a hometown hero in Abilene as he played football at the Abilene Christian University before becoming a full-time pro wrestler.

Due to JBL's association with the Abilene crowd, an unselfish Brock Lesnar proposed to be on the losing end of their house show match.

As things turned out, JBL ended up winning the bout, which was incidentally also Lesnar's first loss since joining the WWE main roster in 2002. Here's what JBL revealed about Brock Lesnar's epic gesture:

"I was working with Brock in Abilene, and I said, 'Hey, Brock, I wanna talk to you,' and he goes, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, your college buddies are here. I'm gonna put you over.' I said, 'Brock, they don't care who goes over. I couldn't care less. You win, I win, it doesn't matter.' I said, 'We're going to a place afterwards,' and so that's what I was telling him," JBL said. JBL also spoke in detail about Lesnar's suplex ability during the insightful Q&A. You can read all about that right here.

During a recent appearance on That 90's Wrestling Podcast, Mike Bennett revealed that Roman Reigns would watch 205 Live matches and help the superstars with valuable insights backstage.

Bennett said that Roman Reigns was 'the man' and noted how the Tribal Chief perfectly played the role of a WWE locker room leader. Bennett stated that Roman Reigns would offer helpful and valid critiques after watching the talent perform on 205 Live.

Mike Bennett appreciated Reigns' genuine efforts towards assisting his colleagues, irrespective of the brand or level they competed at within the company. Bennett had the following to say about Reigns' backstage influence in WWE:

"I mean, Roman (Reigns) is the best; he's the man. That dude would watch our 205 Live matches and help us after our matches and would give us good critique. He wouldn't be like, 'All you guys are doing too much.'" No, he would be genuine and be like, 'Hey, if you did this but if you took a second longer after you did this, think about how the crowd would react.'
"And you're like, 'Oh!' Genuine critiques to the point where you're like, 'Oh, you're actually watching our matches at 10 o'clock at night when everyone else has left the building. Thank you.' He's great." H/t WrestlingInc

Roman Reigns is one of the most respected names, not just in the WWE but the entire wrestling business, and it's unsurprising to see that's been the case for a few years.
