Is Daniel Bryan the RAW Superstar of the week? Yes!

Is it because he is the most entertaining superstar on the show on most nights, including last night? Yes!

Does he deserve to be continuously undermined in a midcard role despite the vociferous support he receives from the crowd week in & week out? No!

It is really hard to believe how far Daniel B has come from his days as a NXT Rookie, being groomed by The Miz. Always extremely talented in the ring and a pure wrestling loving fan’s delight, Daniel Bryan has steadily transformed into one of the most entertaining aspects of WWE TV through his self-effacing promos, quirky catchphrases, facial expressions, hardhitting matches, and through his unbridled passion for what he does. You cannot miss the vigour and enthusiasm that Daniel B exudes when he is doing his thing, which is something that is easy for the audience to latch on to, and he usually ends up receiving one of the loudest reactions of the night. Last night was no different.

His simplistic catchphrase (Yes! & No!) is so popular with the wrestling fans that every move of his is accompanied by a ‘Yes’ chant. It’s almost like the modern-day ‘Whoooo’ immortalised by Ric Flair everytime a wrestler delivers a chop! His stand-out beard and his mannerisms imbibed into the matches makes it hard not to root for him and get involved in what he does. His pairing with Kane is pure comedic gold in my opinion, and their reign as the tag champs has revived interest in the division that had been dying a slow death earlier. After having lost the belts to the Shield at ‘Extreme Rules’, the former tag champs were shown to have a conflict brewing with ‘Goatface’ taking offence to an unintended slight by Kane. It became the basis of Bryan’s performance in the 6-man match against the Shield, as he was a lot more aggressive than usual and took the attack to the opposition all the while reinstating his dominance as a technical grappler. The crowd was cheering loudly every time Daniel B made the tag; and aided by the superlative performances by all the men involved in the match, it turned out to be one entertaining affair. It was certainly long by RAW standards but was worth every extra minute. I am sure that Daniel Bryan as a world champion has more title reigns lined up in the future and would I love to see that happen sooner than later? Yes!
