Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya holds the record for the highest score against India in an innings in Tests. The destructive left hander piled on 340 against a beleaguered Indian bowling attack in 1997. Graham Gooch’s 333 at the Lord’s is still regarded one of the best Test innings ever played.
