4 bold predictions on Liverpool’s transfer window

More and more is coming out of the papers these days, so here’s what I personally think will happen this transfer window.

4. Joe Allen will join – Someone will join Swansea City in return

I’ll start with what is perhaps the safest prediction of my 4. I predict that it is just a matter of time before Welsh midfielder Joe Allen finally signs for Liverpool FC. I couldn’t have made the prediction so simple – so I’m going to announce what I think the price will be.

Honestly, I believe that a deal will be reached at a price of 10 million pounds + Charlie Adam and Jonjo Shelvey on a loan deal.

3. Adam Johnson will join the Reds

I reckon that this is the season when the “Will he, won’t he” business with Manchester City winger Adam Johnson will finally end. This looks like the summer in which the Englishman has been experiencing the most turmoil about his future at Eastlands, and with Man City apparently agreeing to a deal with Swansea over Sinclair, Johnson’s days as a Manchester City player are essentially numbered.

This will be one that will develop over the next few days, and this also leads me on to my next prediction..

2. .. Daniel Agger will go

Yes. I honestly believe this will happen. Liverpool are apparently happy to listen to offers in the region of 16 million pounds, and Adam Johnson to get the deal done. Agger will be a huge loss for the team, but as I always say, every player has his price.

If we get Adam Johnson, coupled with money for more investments, this will be something that we will look back on, and be happy about in the future, because it fixes our problem on the wings, and it also lets us buy a considerably younger defender to get excited about.

1. Craig Bellamy and Carroll not to Leave

After an Olympic showing like the one the Welshman produced for Team GB, Brendan Rodgers might just try to sweet-talk the winger into having one last season with the Reds. Liverpool could still use that explosiveness that the diminutive little winger can provide, and Liverpool could most certainly do with the added depth on the wings as well, given the extra games from Europa League football.

The Carroll prediction is less bold. He isn’t happy to go to West Ham, and Newcastle United look highly unlikely to place a bid for the lanky Englishman any time soon. So don’t be surprised to see him on the bench against West Brom come Matchday 1 of the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League season.
