Eddie Hearn has chimed in with his take on the UFC-WWE merger under Endeavor, an American holding (parent) company for several top talent and media agencies. Endeavor bought the world's leading MMA organization, the UFC, in 2016.

It's now been revealed that Endeavor has purchased professional wrestling-based sports-entertainment company WWE as well. The aforesaid news set the sports and entertainment worlds abuzz earlier this month. Furthermore, it's been confirmed that the UFC and WWE will be merged into one sports-entertainment company.

In the latest edition of The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn acknowledged that Endeavor owns the top MMA company and the top professional wrestling company in the world. That said, the Chairman of Matchroom Boxing indicated that the multi-billion-dollar American holding company hasn't made its mark in boxing yet. Hearn stated:

"Amazing, amazing. I mean, it was an incredible move. What a powerhouse of companies. I mean, two businesses that we look up to a lot really, in terms of the modeling, the brand values; certainly the consumer base in and out of the ring. And UFC, WWE... How many times have I said to you, Ariel? I tell our team all the time. Watch what they do. Look how they do it, and get as close as you can in the boxing world. Really."

Eddie Hearn opined that boxing is a tough business and the American holding company might find it more challenging to control things in boxing than they would in the UFC and WWE. Further expounding upon the UFC-WWE merger, Hearn explained:

"So, yeah, it's an interesting move. And let's see what they do now in terms of boxing because, obviously, that's the one missing for them. But it's a tough business. Maybe, they wanna stay in things they can control."

Eddie Hearn's appreciation for the UFC, hopes for boxing renaissance after UFC-WWE merger under Endeavor

As per a press release by Endeavor, the new company formed after the UFC-WWE merger has been labeled as "NewCo," albeit until the official name is announced at a later date. The ticker symbol "TKO" will be used for the company as it's listed on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange).

Moreover, Ari Emanuel will stay on as Endeavor's CEO, and Vince McMahon will continue as the new company's Executive Chairman. Dana White will continue as the UFC President, Nick Khan will be the WWE President, and Mark Shapiro will be the President and CEO of the new company.

During his conversation with Ariel Helwani, Eddie Hearn insinuated that he hopes for a renaissance in the business of boxing after the UFC-WWE merger. The world-renowned boxing promoter believes Endeavor could financially benefit all parties involved in the boxing realm too.

Speaking of the new company and the hype surrounding it, Eddie Hearn has long been a fan of the UFC and WWE's production strategies, particularly in regards to the UFC. Back in 2015, Hearn notably tweeted his appreciation for the UFC and wrote:

"Always the debate boxing/UFC, fact is from a production standpoint UFC sets the bar. It's a night out... We can learn a lot from their model."
