5 Reasons why The Authority's return is best for business

The Authority returned to WWE television on the final episode of Raw in 2014. They returned after a month and after a very underwhelming, dragged segment between Rollins and Cena. The return was met with much criticism, with many saying that it wasn’t really best for business. The first episode of Raw for the year will kick off in less than 24 hours and we’ll see The Authority in all their gloryHere are five reasons why their return is best for business.

#5 Too many faces make Raw a dull deal

There just can’t be an overload of faces. There needs to be some balance in the universe, in the WWE Universe. When we think about heels, excluding Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, we can think of Seth Rollins and The Miz, who are quite easily loathed,

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have that natural way of getting booed. They are so easy to hate for the position they hold in the company, for all the snobbishness they walk with and for the way they can belittle people.

Their emergence gives the heel category a major boost.

#4 If The Authority is Here, can Sting be far behind?

Triple H will have to deal with this question and get an answer to it. The 55 year old’s interference at Survivor Series cost HHH his power and pride. That has to sting!

The return of The Authority will definitely have them seeking answers for this interference and then we might actually see Sting on raw. Sure, he has a limited amount of appearances but the Road to Wrestlemania has kicked off with the new year. And Sting will be right there around the corner.

#3 More Slap-a-thon

The best heel of the company in the past year has been Stephanie McMahon. Nobody comes close to that accomplishment.

Be it her slaps or her getting slapped or her ranting on the microphone, her being sardonic or her just simply letting you down- it’s all been spectacular.

People would have actually paid to see her face daniel Bryan. The best war of words were between her and Bryan. That’s the feud that made the storyline between Bryan and Authority all the more engaging.

#2 The Anti-Hero

When Triple H and Stephanie McMahon play two of the greatest heels ever, it sure can give rise to the next great babyface or the next anti-hero. There are some who fit in to one of the two categories. Ziggler and Ambrose respectively, for that matter.

Ziggler is one babyface for whom the crowd support throughout and forever. He’s earned every bit of it in his topsy turvy career. While Ambrose is the young blood on the rise, with no care for anything in the world. Pain does not matter and he has a very charismatic presence that nobody can ignore. he just needs that one promo, that one moment, and maybe that one match where he truly stands out.

Something like what ‘Austin 3:16’ did for Austin or the ‘pipebomb’ did for Punk or what the 18 second Wrestlemania loss or the heel ‘Yes’ chant did for Daniel Bryan.

#1 Mr.McMahon to Mr. Helmsley

Mr. McMahon is one of the greatest characters that WWE has ever created. The utter capitalist who had no problem trampling over people, his employess or his family to get what he wants.

And now we can actually think so about Hunter Hearst Helmsley. And Mr. Helmsley sounds so cool. Triple H’s infamous reputation gives his character much ammunition. That’s where a lot of heel energy comes from. He’s got such a strong screen presence combined with the fact that people think that he’s had a very priviliged marriage and it is so difficult to trample his dominance without fearing getting burried.

It’s perfect for the evil boss gimmick renaissance.
