WWE Extreme Rules 2014: 3 Possible Endings for Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Jack Swagger

After a career making WrestleMania week, Cesaro will be looking to leave his mark on the next pay-per-view, Extreme rules. He tore of his connection with his former team mates, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter at WrestleMania which made it clear that Swagger was somehow going face Cesaro at Extreme Rules. Becoming the new Paul Heyman guy gave Cesaro another foe as well making it an interesting Triple Threat match at the pay-per-view.The match might not be in the limelight like the main event ones, but it brings out the essence of just wrestling over a story rather than having a triple threat match for a title. Its actually not a surprise to see such brilliance in the booking as two of the sharpest minds in pro-wrestling, Zeb Colter and Paul Heyman were associated with it.Though there isnt anything to win here, there are plenty at stakes for the Triple threat match so here is a look at the 3 possible endings.

#3 Cesaro winning the match after some great action

Cesaro is someone who is considered as one of the best technicians in the world. Rob Van Dam comes with a wealth of experience and Jack Swagger is someone who wants to make a statement.

With such combination in the match, it promises to be a cracker.

The elimination rules might be a bit awkward here as seeing one of the wrestlers (surely Jack Swagger) going first just adversely affects his momentum. The remaining two will give the same old feeling of a one on one match as well, which we’ve seen many times in the buildup.

If WWE is not going to drop the path for a future feud, the most possible ending that is coming out of Extreme Rules is Cesaro winning. The King of Swing winning an overly booked spectacle will boost his momentum and could easily allow the writers to get him into something new.

This however, will be a disaster for Van Dam and Swagger as they have to go home with not much of a continuation on the narrative and the burden of starting off from ground zero.

#2 Rob Van Dam becoming the New Real American

Ever since Cesaro broke up from the pact, Zeb Colter was busy abusing him all over Twitter. Another interesting thing that Colter did was admitting that he was searching for a new partner for Swagger.

It apparently didn’t go anywhere, but knowing WWE, the idea of having someone new for Colter’s pack is lurking somewhere around the corner. The Real Americans, during their time was one of the assets of the tag team division which is currently gasping for breath after almost all the teams broke up.

The only teams left in the division now are Usos, Los Matadores, Rybaxel, 3MB (if you consider them to be one) and Rhodes Brothers (who are on the verge of a break up). So WWE is in desperate need of a new team and the new Real Americans could do a swell job.

After Cesaro picks up the win, Swagger coming to knock him down and reveal that RVD is his new partner his going to be a great move for everyone.

Swagger could get back into the tag team division and be relevant while Van Dam could explore new grounds with a heel turn along with protecting his physique. It could give Cesaro option for new feud as well while the other two could go after the tag titles.

#1 Paul Heyman costing Cesaro the match

On a short term this might not sound as a good idea, but if Cesaro is to be molded into a top baby face in the company, then this surely is the way to go.

The entire reason why Rob Van Dam is in this match is because he told Cesaro to be away from Paul Heyman. Van Dam, one of the original Paul Heyman guys, said that Heyman was a liar and a manipulator which sparked the feud between Cesaro and Van Dam.

Though Cesaro admitted that he has no problems with Heyman, down the road he is sure to have some. If WWE pitted up the idea of Heyman being leacher then they surely will exploit it.

When the match comes down to Van Dam and Cesaro after Swagger’s elimination, Heyman could do something which distracts Cesaro and gives the win to Van Dam. The loss will not make Cesaro happy and he will start thinking about what RVD said.

Stretching the same to one or more pay-per-views and we could have Cesaro turning on Heyman which stamps him as a top baby face. It could also set up Cesaro’s match with Heyman’s other client (The one who broke Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania) which is going to be another career high for Cesaro.
