WWE Fast Lane 2015: Early match card predictions for the pay-per-view

Royal Rumble did not end in a way that WWE wanted. For the second time in a row, the winning babyface was booed out of the Arena which is not the buildup that Vince McMahon was looking for ahead of this year’s WrestleMania. What happened at the Royal Rumble cannot be redone now but the company will have an important stop at FedEx Forum Arena in Memphis, Tennessee on February 22 for the first ever Fast Lane.Being the last big stage before WrestleMania, there will be a lot of mess to clean up for the writers but the potential match card does not look promising. It is still a bit early to predict how it will shape up but still, here is a look at the possible matches that WWE could line up for Fast Lane.

#6 Tyson Kidd and Cesaro vs The Usos

A match between The Ascension and Usos are set for WrestleMania but WWE needs to fill in the void for Fast Lane. Usos does not have a credible opponent other than Tyson Kidd and Cesaro at the moment after the latter went over New Day at the Rumble.

Kidd and Cesaro, being excellent in ring workers, have managed to find a great chemistry that is lacking in most of the other teams in the division. Letting them win against the New Day has underlined the booking team’s confidence in them as well.

Usos are sure to win the match if it is booked, but it is sure to showcase some fast paced wrestling which will set up the champions pretty well for their WrestleMania showdown.

#5 Stardust vs Goldust

This match has been in the buildup for nearly two years. For some reason or the other, WWE has been saving it for a bigger occasion and WrestleMania is apt. However, instead of letting it go into Mania directly, they should give out a teaser at Fast Lane.

There was a bit of friction between the two men at the Rumble match and it should be blown out of proportions. There are rumors of Goldust retiring after WrestleMania and the best way to go out would be after putting his brother over.

Stardust looks good to take over the weird character from his brother. And the first chapter for this feud should be unfolded at Fast Lane.

#4 John Cena vs Rusev

WWE’s obsession of letting John Cena headline WrestleMania seems to be over after the Cenation leader locked horns with Rusev at the Royal Rumble. It looks set to be a feud that will run all the way to WrestleMania and if it does, it will be nothing more than a mid-card affair.

Last year, Cena had a similar bout with Bray Wyatt and though many complain that Bray was buried after that feud, he actually benefited from sharing the stage with Cena.

Rusev may or may not get buried at Mania but as far as Fast Lane is concerned, we might see an indecisive ending with Cena probably going to get knocked out by the Bulgarian Brute.

#3 Bray Wyatt vs Dolph Ziggler

All the clues are pointing towards a potential clash between Bray Wyatt and Undertaker at the WrestleMania. Bray has been booked strongly for the past couple of months and if Taker is in his destiny, then that good run needs to continue at Fast Lane as well.

There are a handful of possible opponents for Bray, but the best one would be Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler knows how to put over superstars and though he will get buried big time, Bray will look stronger than ever.

The other option for Bray is a match against Erick Rowan but since Ziggler is by far a better in ring performer, the pick should go to Ziggler.

#2 Seth Rollins vs Daniel Bryan (Winner gets title shot at WrestleMania)

One of the reasons why the fans jeered Roman Reigns at Rumble is Daniel Bryan. Everyone wanted Bryan to live another fairytale and go on to face Lesnar in the WrestleMania 31. From the reactions we saw so far, if WWE does not involve Bryan into the match, it is going to be a riot.

The best way to let Bryan get into the scene would be to play the Authority card once again. Last year, Triple H was the obstacle for Bryan and this year it should be Seth Rollins.

The company should make a match between Bryan and Rollins with the winner getting a chance to be in the WrestleMania main event. Randy Orton can return during the match and feud with Rollins while Bryan could win to make it a triple threat with Lesnar and Reigns.

#1 Roman Reigns vs Big Show and Kane

The damage done to Roman Reigns will be hard to reverse. There is nothing wrong from his side to be frank, but the way he was booked at the rumble was a big mistake by the company.

Reigns had a great segment with Lesnar and Heyman on Monday night and the company will have to follow it up with a great setting at Fast Lane. A handicap match looks perfect considering that Big Show and Kane were eliminated by Reigns.

They have had a lot of problems with Reigns in the past as well which makes it a natural scenario. A Lesnar interference at the end of the match would make it good buildup as well.
