#5 Randy Orton vs John Cena vs Triple H

At Wrestlemania 24, three of the biggest stars of the time still performing all met in a triple threat match for the company’s most prestigious title. Randy Orton was set to defend his WWE championship against Triple H and John Cena.

Orton had been on roll, excelling as a top heel but most assumed his reign was coming to an end at mania while Cena had been out with an injury that had forced him to relinquish the title in the first place. HHH had also dealt with a serious injury that forced him to miss Wrestlemania 23. They were both extremely popular stars at the time and the majority believed on of them would walk out as champion.

However, as the Wrestlemania rolled around, Orton would set out to prove his doubters wrong. The match itself was perfect, but it was still a solid performance which should the Game nail Cena with a pedigree only to be punted by Orton which allowed him to the steal the victory.

#4 Randy Orton vs Kurt Angle vs Rey Mysterio

Another of Orton’s great Wrestlemania matches was also a triple threat. This time Orton was challenging for the world heavyweight championship at WM22 where he battle against the champ Kurt Angle and the ultimate underdog Rey Mysterio.

The bout was extremely good, but unfortunately, the match was given so little time that he failed to fully capitalize on the momentum they tried to create.

#3 Randy Orton vs CM Punk

Wrestlemania 27 saw Orton enter as a face (for a change) and challenge the talented, straight edge saviour CM Punk. At the time, Punk was the leader of his New Nexus stable which Orton decided to take out every single member before mania with the punt kick to assure a fair bout.

However prior to the grandest stage of them all, Punk attacked Orton’s leg/knee with a monkey wrench to stop him from utilizing the punt kick. This narrative played a part in the match as well which saw Orton collapse while trying to deliver a punt.

Eventually, Orton won with an impressive RKO to Punk who was flying through the air.

Once again, the bout was very good but it could have been even better if simply given more time to amaze.

Wrestlemania 30 saw Randy Orton defend his newly unified WWE World Heavyweight Championship against a recently returned (disliked) Batista and an extremely popular Daniel Bryan who was riding a wave of momentum and defeated Triple H earlier on in the show to earn his spot in the main event.

The bout was spectacular largely due to the emotion that fans pushed behind their hero, Bryan. That being said though, Orton most definitely (along with Batista) played his important part in the match very well.

#1 Randy Orton vs Undertaker

By far Ortons greatest match ever at mania was at Wrestlemania 21 when he challenged the Undertaker and his famous streak.

Orton was a young up and comer heel who had been on a roll with his legend killer gimmick. At Wrestlemania though Orton looked to further cement his legacy as the legend killer by killing the legendary streak of the Phenom.

The match itself was fantastic with Orton coming very close on multiple occasions to ending the streak. However Undertaker would eventually emerge victorious after delivering an emphatic tombstone Piledriver.

Regardless of the result, this mania match helped catapult Ortons career as he slowly transformed from legend killer to a legend himself.
