WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 30 August, 2014

Wyatt Family

Seth RollinsAfter a solid SummerSlam and a memorable edition of Monday Night Raw, the rumor mill had a lot of reasons to run berserk. The way in which SummerSlam turned out to be and the surprise returns that went down on Raw shifted the WWE landscape completely and all of these ended up being talking points last week. There were talks about some huge changes happening in the divas division where as an addition to the Wyatt Family was another speculation.WWE’s latest friendship with New Japan Pro Wrestling along with the status of Lana and Seth Rollins were other major contributors to the rumor-mill. Here is an in-depth look into them and their possible effects if they indeed come true.

#5 Sister Abigail to join the Wyatt Family

Wyatt Family

Braun Strowman made a thunderous debut for WWE on Monday Night Raw. The New addition to the Wyatt Family was a major talking point throughout last week and if it goes by the rumor, we could see anther addition to the family. The WWE writers are thinking about making Sister Abigail a real person and letting some diva play the role. There is no word on who will be chosen to play the role but if WWE is going ahead with the plan, it is going to be great for the fans.

Sister Abigail will add more depth to the faction and whoever gets the role will have a platform to make a name for herself. If it is a regular diva, then Wyatt Family could get involved in the Divas division as well.

#4 WWE building relations with New Japan Pro Wrestling

Jushin Liger

WWE’s relationships with other promotions have been forgettable all these years but recently, they are taking a much more tolerable stand. There were rumors of WWE having a working relationship with Ring of Honor and now, Vince McMahon’s promotion is linked with New Japan Pro Wrestling. WWE is building a strong bond with the Japanese promotion and Jushin Liger’s appearance at NXT was apparently part of this.

Liger is expected to appear in more NXT events going forward and we might get to see some more New Japan talent coming in. New Japan also has strong ties with Global Force Wrestling and Ring of Honor so it would be interesting to see how everything turns out to be.

#3 Team PCB breaking up

Team PCB

WWE had Team PCB attend Miz TV on last week’s Monday Night Raw and the main purpose of this was to show the friction between the girls. WWE wants to break up the team and make them go after Nikki Bella’s championship and the segment of Miz TV was supposed to be the first chapter in the storyline. However, it didn’t turn out like WWE planned and the idea of a friction between the girls did not come out properly.

Speaking of the Divas Division, there are also rumors which suggest that John Cena is pulling strings for his girlfriend. Nikki has shot down the same but we never know what is happening in the backstage do we?

#2 Reason why Lana is not wrestling

Lana

Despite the heated feud with Summer Rae, WWE is yet to push Lana into the squared circle and they apparently have a good reason for this. According to the rumors, Lana is held back from the wrestling ring due to some medical reasons and though we are yet to know that it actually is, the same could play a big role in spoiling WWE’s plans going ahead.

Vince McMahon earlier had big plans for Lana and these were dropped for some reason. There were plans to have a mixed tag team match at Night Of champions involving Lana, Summer Rae, Dolph Ziggler and Rusev but if the rumor turns out to be true, WWE might be reconsidering the decision.

#1 Double Duty for Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is all set to face Sting at Night Of Champions for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. It is supposed to headline the pay-per-view, but there is a word going around about Rollins pulling off double duty at the event. Rollins might have to defend his United States Championship against John Cena before the main event and the idea is to put Rollins over in some way.

Working two matches and winning both of them would add credibility to him and even if he loses the second match, Rollins will have a reason to blame on making it a win-win situation on both sides. Nothing is confirmed till now and it could change by the time of Night of Champions.
