On Friday, April 25, 2024, BTS member Jimin surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify on his first solo album, FACE. The BTS vocalist has written history as the first and only Korean solo artist to have a Korean language album amassed over 2 billion plays on the music service platform.

Jimin has been setting records with his album and title track, Like Crazy, released on March 24, 2023, as a solo artist, besides being a member of the K-pop boy group BTS. Given the increasing number of streams, his solo music has received appreciation from listeners.

Furthermore, the Serendipity singer recently entered the Billions Club of Spotify with his titular R&B, Like Crazy. Notably, Like Crazy is the first and fastest Korean-language song to reach this feat. It took FACE 1 year and 33 days to get the two billion mark. Meanwhile, the title track took 377 days to cross one billion streams on Spotify since its official release in 2023.


BTS' Jimin surpasses 2 billion streams on first solo album FACE

Jimin marked his solo debut on March 24, 2023, with the EP FACE featuring six tracks: Face-off, Interlude: Dive, Like Crazy Alone, Set Me Free Pt. 2, and Like Crazy (English Version). The album's physical copy also contained a particular track for ARMYs called Letter.

The BTS member became the first Korean solo artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his track Like Crazy and the second K-pop artist after BTS to reach this milestone. The song spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It continued to chart on Spotify USA Chart as a K-pop soloist's first longest charting song. FACE was also a Korean soloist's first and only album to enter the Year-End Billboard 200 chart in 2023.

Notably, he recently crossed 3 billion streams across all credits on Spotify. This made him the 3rd K-pop solo artist to have 3 billion plays on the platform, besides fellow group members Suga and Jungkook.

Jimin won the 2023 Mnet Asian Music Awards in the Best Male Artist category and the 2024 Hanteo Music Awards in three categories: Artist of the Year, Global Artist Award - Oceania, and Global Artist Award - South America.


Jimin receives the 2024 Webby Awards in two categories

Previously, on April 24, the BTS member received the 2024 Webby Awards in two categories. These included the viral video category and advertising, media, and PR: media and entertainment for the integrated campaign.

Per the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) winners list, the singer won awards alongside TV host Jimmy Fallon and Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling.

Jimin appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show last year for his FACE album promotions and participated in "The JIMIN Experience video." this gave him an award for the Viral Video category in the 2024 Webby Awards.

Furthermore, Ryan Gosling released a campaign video crediting the singer for his cowboy outfit inspiration in the Barbie film. As part of the campaign, the actor gifted the BTS member his character Ken's guitar. This campaign received an advertising, media, and PR award in the media and entertainment category.

Meanwhile, the Filter singer began mandatory military service alongside Jungkook on December 12, 2023, through the buddy system. He also released his digital single Closer Than This, dedicating this track to his fan base, ARMY, while serving in the military on December 22, 2023.

Jimin is expected to return to group activities with his fellow members in 2025.
